Jack Challem inhabits two spheres of
creativity: that of the visual image and that of the
written word. He is an accomplished photographer who
has exhibited in photographic galleries in Santa Fe
and in the respected Santa Fe Festival of the Arts.
Jack has also published his photography in conjunction
with his travel articles and in nature magazines.
He regularly travels throughout the western
United States and Europe, recently photographing in
Point Lobos (California), Taos (New Mexico), Arizona
(various locations), and Denmark. Working almost exclusively
in 2-1/4 format, he photographs accidental abstractions,
old architecture, landscape details and still life.
His color images are printed on Fuji Crystal Archive
paper, providing a rich fade-resistant color. His black-and-white
images are printed on a variety of papers, including
conventional RC, fiber-based, or Fuji Crystal Archive.
Jack is also one of the leading nutrition and health
writers in the United States. He is the author of many
health books, including the best-selling Syndrome X:
The Complete Nutritional Program to Prevent and Reverse
Insulin Resistance (2000) and his recent book, The Inflammation
Syndrome (2003). He is a contributing editor and columnist
for several national magazines.
He currently lives in Tucson, Arizona.
